We are called to be ready even in the midst of being uncertain. We know that evil is embodied in antichrists, though we can’t always anticipate who they might be. Our role is to be in a state of readiness with our own blamelessness and purity. 

  1. What difference does it mean for you to be in a state of readiness given that you know evil is present, both as a force and embodied in individuals? Does that motivate you to be diligent, or lead you to despair? What kinds of thoughts, prayers or habits can you develop to make sure that this knowledge leads you to diligence and not despair? (e.g., prayers to pray, Scripture to memorize, encouraging words or phrases to tell yourself and other believers)
