Read the passages below and describe where Paul locates true human freedom.

Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek. This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves.
Galatians 2:3-4 (NIV)

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery . . . You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace . . . For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
Galatians 5:1, 4, 6 (NIV)

  1. Where can we find human freedom, and what does it do?
  1. As we should expect at this point, true freedom is not found in the law, the flesh, or human works, but in Jesus Christ alone. Are there things in your life that you’re “yoked to” that are compromising your freedom in Christ? Do you remain enslaved to things from which Christ has set you free? Reflect on these questions below.
