Lesson Overview

Welcome to Group Dynamics, a course for anyone who leads a ministry group of any kind. In Lesson 1, Deb McCormick touches on the importance of group leaders and the 10 ways we need to “stop doing what comes naturally and start doing what works!”

Lesson Objectives

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • Explain why your role as a small-group leader is to help your group “make the connection.”
  • Define the relationship between context and content in small-group facilitation.
Personal Reflection

As you proceed through this lesson have the following question in mind.
What have you tried as a group facilitator that comes naturally but doesn’t work well? What have you tried that does work well?
