Lesson Overview
This course gives an introductory perspective for the study of the prophets of the Old Testament. It dispels common misunderstandings about the prophets, provides guidelines for interpreting prophecy, and gives the student confidence to begin studying prophetic literature. The course is based on the DVD series by Dr. Richard Pratt, Jr., “He Gave Us Prophets.”
Lesson Objectives
When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:
- Express their own thoughts and attitudes regarding the role of the Old Testament prophets
- Identify the main characteristics of a prophet and the particular emphasis of the prophets’ roles during each period of Israel’s history in the Old Testament
- Show ways in which they have applied the teachings of the course to their own lives
