Christ is the brains of the operation, and the church is directed and put into action from Christ.

We are the body with Christ as the head of the church. We should be reaching others and growing the Kingdom of Christ. We are the workers with His guidance. We are the boots on the ground. It is not about the building, and I think many times we get distracted by the building and having members. We are the body of Christ and we need to be going out, sharing the Gospel and making disciples.

That as the head of the church Christ is the unquestioned leader of the church. The different parts of the church, eyes, ears, arms, etc, come together to make a whole that can serve Christ the way it should.

When our attention is on Christ as Lord of all, on His person, His grace, His words–and the words of the prophets and apostles–when He is reigning in our hearts, we are appreciative and complementary in our mutual efforts, interests, and needs. Then the church can begin to move forward together.

When I think about Christ as the head of the church, it is like the head of a household or the one who everyone looks to for guidance and direction as well as safety and security. This is what it is like with Christ as the head of the church as we look to Him in all things as our leader

Being the head of the church, Christ has the supreme authority. He’s the decision maker, His choice should be our choice and as a part of the church I must submit to His Lordship in every aspect of my life.

Just as the head is the control center of the body, so Christ is in control of his church. As the church, we cannot operate on our own.

We are not lead by people but by Christ and his plan and purpose.

That the head houses the mind, so Christ has already revealed how the Body ought to function; thus, every member of the Body NEEDS the mind of Christ in order to function properly.

Everything in the body flows through the head. If we don’t let Christ flow through us for everything we do, we can’t function, just like an arm can’t move without direction from the brain.

The body…. is something that I reflected.

Just as the brain is the center for all the body parts to even function, so is Christ as the head and we the individual parts of the body. We cannot operate on our own or separate from the Head or the body. We are all one.

The body cannot operate without the Head. There is absolutely no life without the Head. There is no division within a body. Each member operates best when all the other members are operating at their best and healthiest. Any pain or disease affects the entire body.

One of my favorite Scriptures is Ephesians 2:8-10)
” 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
The key for me is that God has works for me that He prepared for me to walk in. I am learning to say no to all else except what I discern is His will for me.
I have taken a couple of Spiritual Gifts assessments and have come out with the combination of
Teaching/ Mercy, Serving, Exhortation and Prophecy. I have a Devotional Blog and have self-published several books and I do music and art with my husband. I have taught in Churches and I have led talks on Retreats. I have also led worship on and off for years both in Churches and on a few Women’s Retreats.
God seems to be always morphing how He leads me so I need to stay close and listen carefully for His next steps. Of course, that is true for us all.

I agree with other comments, that Christ has authority and head is where the brain so He is a teacher too, and as we are as one body we belong together and to serve the head

Christ is the most important part of the body, and we are… not minor or inferior in a bad way but truly, he is to whom all authority and control belong to, and causes any of the other body to work together.

Christ being the Head of the Church unites the body and causes all the body to work as it is intended. He is head in authority and in empowerment of the body to carry out His will and good pleasure. If the body is not being directed by the Head there is always a disconnect and brokenness becomes evident.

To submit to His headship, being my Lord and Savior by submitting to His words. Thru obedience and humility I will submit to the local church too and be a “productive” member as I contribute my God-given talent for the glory of God and as I await for His coming.

I think about the ways that my body is doing some strong things, but it is all directed by the brain inside my head. without the brain, my body would be a lifeless bag of bones.

Without the head nothing else works. The head is at the top of the body so it shows we have to put God above everything else.

All functions are initiated and enabled from the head. When the head and the body are in sync healthy functions are supported and maintained.
Keep Christ first in all functions and plans. Stay away from fleshly man made ideas.

Jesus is the head, the Ultimate and Perfect leader! In an era of social media, it is easy to follow the popular preacher and teacher. We cannot replace this with the leadership of Christ and our submission and contribuition to a local body. Jesus had a close group and sent them out to make disciples who make disciples. Jesus is our righteous judge and savior. Trust in Him and HIs leadership!

Christ uses each of us to do certain tasks to complete a mission. Like parts of the body we must be given a task and taught how to do it.

Christ is who we serve and the control tower of how we do it. But without hands, feet and heart the head will be limited in effective ministry. God doesn’t need us, but wants to use us for our benefit.

One of my insights is that you can’t have the head without the body and vis versa . Second we as the Body must do our part in helping the body operate and sustain.

We are His Bride and he is coming for a pure and sanctified bride that loves him.
The church needs to grow an lot in preparation for that.

I always liked the saying of where the head goes the body will follow. If we allow God to lead the church, I.e. our lives, we will always go in the direction that God wants. If we try to control the head, nothing good will come from it.

The head should control the body and its movement. Sometimes, the church seams to want to move independent or without the head.
