Dr. Blomberg says that “Paul’s preaching [had] a significant impact on the idolatry of the Roman Empire. . .” How do you see examples of idolatry and immorality in your culture today? How might the church impact this?

We as believers can set an example of what we place as significant in our lives. We are called to be in the world but not of it. Being a light to show the glory of God.

Our culture has become about all that I can get or achieve. The church can impact us through message of the gospel and by living a Christian life.

The culture here in the United States, as well as in other countries, has become about all that I can get or achieve. We are making things and achievements our gods. The church needs to bring the message that there is only one God who is worthy of worship and following after because it is He that created all things and has the power or life and death through which He offers eternal life.

Preaching reveals idolatry – Idolatry can take many forms where we can idolise our wealth, family, friends our work or businesses. Immorality is seen in our culture through sex begore marriage or immortal behaviour such as stealing, assault, or murder. The church can impact these through message of the gospel and by living a Christian life through fruits of the spirit.
