God’s Word is the foundation of all we do. It is our guide, our rule book, our encouragement, etc. Having a foundation in God’s Word has been a priceless resource in my life.
Of course God’s word, prayer and the direction of the Holy Spirit for the keystone for any spiritual leader. I am currently experiencing a leadership crisis in my church leadership. Two factions had arisen in our church and as I turned to God’s word for direction and wisdom I was immediately guided me to James 3:14-18 “But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”KJV. I was easy for me to look at the behavior of the two factions in the light of these scripture and determine how to align.
It plays a vital role. as a the head of my home and a man of God, the Word of God is my guide and what I trust to show me how to lead my family and my areas of ministry that I am involved in.
A s a servant leader and a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ I know that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. There is no other way and without Gods word I would be lost in this world. This is not an occasional need but an everyday need.
I lean on God’s word before I teach and before our business meetings. I try my best to let God’s word lead me in my leadership positions.
First off, I’d like to say God’s Word has influenced my position as a follower. I have learned (and continue to learn) to submit to the official and unofficial authorities over me in obedience to the Bible. I believe this will help me to trust and rely on His Word when I do become a leader.
God’s Word influences my role as a leader because it is the truth I live by. God’s Word sets the standards by which I live. As a leader, I expect those whom I am leading to to follow similar rules. If I live my life according to God’s Word, then those I lead will have an example of how they should behave. When we put God and His way first, we ultimately are giving Him permission to take the drivers seat. As God drives, we submit to His ways and hope that people will follow.
I am convinced that my success as a leader is based on my obedience to his word.
God’s Word is very important, we must pay attention to understand and get power and wisdom from it.
It is everything. I take it with me wherever I go. Study it whenever I can. It is a constant beckoning of my time and thoughts. It is, along with prayer, my weapon and strength. My guide and instruction. When encouragement is needed, I refer to it. When directional answers are requested, it is the reference source used. It will continue to be my tool of choice until I leave this world. I will never stop learning what The Lord has for me to know. My goal has been to only lead by its principles and with the knowledge of the examples it represents.
Thus far, God’s word has played a significant role in my position as a leader. The following are examples:
a. Always be a humble servant
b. Do not tolerate wrongdoing
c. Honest and open
d. Be more merciful and compassionate towards others
e. Do not tempt people to do evil
f. Always pray for God’s wisdom and Guidance before any actions
