How does the fact that the resurrection took Jesus’ disciples by surprise substantiate the resurrection?

      It took the resurrection to get them to fully believe. They saw many miracles and wonderful acts, but nothing compares to seeing the resurrected Christ. They went from being quivering cowards in a room to being world changers. Only a resurrection could have such impact.

      Before the resurrection, the disciples were scared and worried. When they saw the resurrected Christ, they responded with a boldness that was different from before. The fact that the disciples responded with such surprise shows that they weren’t sure what was going to happen. The resurrection took them by surprise in a positive way.

      Jesus followers were afraid after his death. They fled and hid for fear of what would happen. Jesus resurrection gave them a boldness they did not before.
