How does the testimony of the women help establish the resurrection account?

      They weren’t considered formidable witnesses, so would they bother to testify? The fact that they did testify and it was the exact testimony of the men – nothing contrary nor in opposition, was powerful reinforcement that the event truly happened and wasn’t hatched by men to deceive – otherwise the testimony of the women would be useless for their plot.

      Women at this time were not considered reliable. They were looked at as second class citizens. The fact that women were the first to go to the tomb and find it empty is amazing. It only adds more proof to the resurrection that the women’s accounts were repeated.

      Women were regarding as second class citizens. There testimony would not have been accepted. It would have been much easier to have men used instead to make it more reliable
