The Bible refers to King David as a “man after God’s own heart” (Acts 13:22). What did he accomplish spiritually that made him deserving of that phrase?

Because he realized that he always needed God and always looked to God for anything and everything, whether good or bad. He sinned, big time, like all of us do and showed all of us the way to redemption

I believe David was always able to return to center, repenting and honoring God, even after failure.

In Acts 13:22, David is called a “man after God’s own heart” because God says the David will do what was commanded of him and would be obedient.

David continually praised God, he fought to be upright with God and constantly prayed. It was this close relationship with God that said these things about David

David had a passion for worship to the point that his wife thought he was losing his mind. That shows how his heart was bending after the Lord. He also walked in confidence of the Lord’s promises even though there were dark times in his life.

Ultimately, David was a kind man who kept his promises and showed grace to others. His ultimate agenda was loving God and others.
