      By examining our hearts, we learn what areas we need work and we than know what we need to hand over to God, so he can work through us and strengthen us

      As noted in the previous question, the tiny little slips are way more detrimental than walking up to a cliff and jumping off. It is important for me to have God continually test my heart and give me feedback.

      Reflection on our heart and actions is absolutely crucial so that we don’t lapse into sin. The prayer cried out by the psalmist is exemplary in what we should be daily asking God ourselves so that we don’t lose sight of the motives of our hearts.
