This is where i really lack. I dont know, and it seems as if god is silent. Maybe prayer and fasting.
Focus on God and the word.
A good solution is be deliberate with my devotions and other things, making sure I make it a habit to spend time with God. I need to be disciplined with my time and pray, pray, pray
Admit I’m distracted, repent that I’m not focused on Christ, practice self-discipline, and pray for God’s help in this.
The simplicity way to overcome distraction for me is to put my faith to Jesus christ through the words of God and prayers.
A solution to my being distracted is to go after something with specific intentionality. I do best with setting specific objectives with a manageable plan and checkpoints for monitoring. This is the process I follow for proactively removing distractions.
God allowed me to refocus on His Word and learn of Him.
We have to recognize and agree that we have been distracted, then fellowship with believers to keep accountability, but we also need to repent and ask God to guide us back.
First I think it’s about knowing that you are being distracted. Most of the time we don’t know that we are distracted. Once you realize the distraction, I think we should apologize to God and ask God to forgive us and help us find our way back to him.
I will say that my biggest distraction comes from getting pulled into watching TV, listening to podcasts, and the like. I have to be very intentional about taking the time to “switch off.” My kids are old enough now to where I have so much more free time available to get my focus back to the word of God and it is incredible how media has been the main distractor from the study of the bible and my personal time with Christ.
For me the easiest way to avoid distraction is to build a consistent schedule. When I scheduled my devotional time and it allows me to stay focused on what is most important.
