I think that we often think that the early church just was in this period of peace and bliss experiencing unchallenged growth. Yet, it is the most beautiful reminder when we read scripture and we see that God grows the Church both in calmness and chaos. So we can be assured that whether the seas are calm or raging in our current day, God will be there and HE is always working.
we can understand the history of the church and be able to understand the work of us the believers in the church and his true purpose.
If we modeled our churches after the churches in Acts we would be better off. These people had a powerful grasp on who Jesus was and how that changed life as they knew it. If we could even kind of comprehend that, we would preach and teach very differently.
Great examples of how to keep pushing forward to worshipping God in spite of adversity. Benefit of being encouraged to stay strong in faith.
We can see that God is powerful and His Holy Spirit works in us daily and is our helper and comforter. We are to be bold about sharing His word and what He has done in our lives. We know the road will not be smooth or easy but He goes with us and protects us and helps us turn adversity into great things. We have nothing to fear and he wants us to be a bold follower!

Knowing the history of the early church through the book of Acts is vital in knowing if the many different churches of today are following God’s word or not.
The benefits I get are knowing that the early church was founded on Jesus’ (God) direct teachings and the continued missionary work and love of the disciples guided by the Holy Spirit. Knowing the beginnings of the church and the tremendous work of love and compassion for all people humbles me. I feel more grounded in the Gospel and in my faith.
I can get a background as to what was occurring during that time period after Jesus’ death and resurrection and how it lead to the growth of the early church and those who were involved.
Receiving the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the Church. Also, receiving the HS, we receive our spiritual gifts that God has intended for each of our lives and His purpose.

The Holy Spirit was moving like crazy, and if we want to see the same in our ives and ministries we should study what the early church did.

This shows the growing pains of the church and the believers. Paul answers some very fundamental questions of having faith and trust in Jesus.
The ability to persevere. Confidence in that Jesus is who He proclaimed to be.
Practically, it shows tremendous perseverance in the face of persecution for those who wanted to share the Gospel with others.
What were the focuses of the early church? Spreading the gospel, opposing heresies, and fellowship and communion of the saints.
You get to see the bravery of the very first Christians and the trials that they endured as they lived for Christ.
To learn how to be led by Holy Spirit
It shows boldness and the power of the Holy Spirit when the gospel is proclaimed. Acts can serve as a great encouragement to live bodly by the power of the Spirit, on mission, for the building of the church; because it hasn’t stopped. It also gives us a good backdrop for the New Testament letters that were written.
They were the ones that spread the Gospel and they were bold in sharing even though they knew what would happen to them.
We see God’s faithfulness and continued work – and the presence of the Spirit – in the days immediately following Jesus’s days on earth. We see how early believers dealt with questions of their own (and how God revealed Himself and His plan), and questions from those around them. We see God actively working through the disciples to bring others to a saving knowledge of Him. We see people of all different backgrounds being brought into unity under Christ’s covering.
People used to speak boldly about their lives in Christ back in the times of acts and part of the problem with today’s society is the fact that Christians just allow everyone else to do the talking and take over the world. As Christians we need to start speaking up about all the wrong in the world
The early church grew because people were willing to be bold and share. How are we to spread the gospel message if we don’t speak up?
How they grew in numbers can be replicated today.
Discipleship and evangelism was less programatic and more part of their every day lives. I think our culture is starting to drift back to this style of ministry!
Small gathering for fellowship and study of God’s word is still effective today.
You can understand what the Holy Spirit is and the power of His Spirit inside you.
At times, I can feel like I’m beating the same drum over and over again. However, original context is essential! Knowing this history allows us to pursue church today, the way it was originally intended to be.
To understand the overarching narrative f believers and our call to spread the gospel
It is to know how God works to bless his people through holly spirit.
A comprehensive and understandable picture of how God uses us in His plan of salvation to spread the Gospel. As the Holy Spirit came as the force of a strong wind we too carry that same power in us to change the lives of non-believers by speaking truth and bringing light into darkness by the guiding and wisdom of The Holy Spirit
Those that are “called” are empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue in the business of Kingdom Building. God gave us the Good News through the birth and ministry of Jesus Christ and provided salvation not only to the Jews but Gentiles also. The Day of Pentecost shows that once the Holy Spirit came upon the 12 that they were able to communicate to all nations. This means that the Gospel is available to everyone.
It took boldness and perseverance to establish and grow the church. Although we are persecuted and shamed for faith in Christ we must not stop spreading the Good News and compelling souls to repent and receive the Holy Spirit and Comforter and Guide.
That we truly are the continuation of the early church and that we have the history of the early church well documented
History, once again, gives us context and understanding of how the disciples had to remain steadfast in their task to preach the gospel and introduce people to God.
That as a church we must be united in our sole purpose to spread the gospel to the unbelievers.
You see the key leaders and places that Paul especially invested in. The result of investing in a few was the belief in Jesus by thousands. We need to be more intentional in implementing much of the same model in the church today.
That Gods plan always comes to pass
That we need to keep living by God’s rules, sharing the gospel with everyone we meet, and be faithful in our relationship with God, filled of the holy spirit. It is so important that we gather together with fellow believers to share the gospel, learn and encourage each other and do God’s will.
We can learn more about Jesus and his teachings ,and how to be a better christian
All about the early church and how it operated
from acts we can learn how to share the gospel
Through the reading of Acts, I can learn so much about the various practical aspects of Christian living, from how to share the Gospel from a relational approach with both love and boldness, to how to endure persecution by relying on God’s strength.
The understanding that received is its, power, proclaimation, that his disciples accomplished. the Practical benifit of Acts is the reassurance we have that God will use his people that trust in him to profess his word with boldness. and that he does not leave use alone and thru our adversity he would make it better for workedth out all things to them that believe.( forgot what verse that came)
We see that a church is not a building with 4 walls and a roof. The church is the gathering of people in Jesus’s name. It the fellowship with other believers. In this day and time that we are living in, when churches are closed and people are at home, we can look to the early church as a model on how we should be. Also, that we need to communicate, encourage and rebuke (when necessary) other believers. Following the model that the early church established, we have no reason not to worship God and teach others.
Mostly understanding how the church came to be and how it is operated and maintained. You also get an understanding of the persecution you can and will eventually face as a believer.
Persecution is part of the growth and expansion of the Church into areas new and in opposition to the Gospel. That has not changed.
It is important to learn about the early church and how it was designed to be in Acts. In modern society, many churches have become insitutions and do not always behave or resemble the early churches.
We can receive was to run and operate our churches and have no excuses. The first church wasn’t perfect but when it comes to how they operated and helped and care for one another, I truly admire it.
The obstacles, huddles, persecutions that were encountered and overcame, as it were, by the Apostles and early century converts to Christianity.
The boldness that they shared, showed the world a belief that was undeniable. We need to share with they same intesity.
