Lesson Overview
How do we determine objective truth? How do we defend truth in an age when people deny that there is objective truth? Why is it important for Christians to defend the truth of the faith?
Apologetics is the defense of Christianity as objectively true, compellingly rational, and pertinent to the whole of life. In this first of five lessons professor of philosophy, Dr. Douglas Groothuis, lays the foundation for understanding apologetics and the Christian worldview.
Lesson Objectives
When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:
- Explain what Christian apologetics is and why it is important.
- Describe general apologetic methods.
- Discuss the concept of truth.
- Identify and refute the false claims of postmodernism.
- Explain what the Christian worldview is and how understanding it is relevant to Christian apologetics.
