  • Explain the difference between the terms complementarian and egalitarian as the terms relate to women and church leadership
  • Define the term hermeneutic in relationship to studies of Scripture
  • Discuss the historical-grammatical hermeneutic including the five processes used in its application
  • Describe the language and cultural obstacles to understanding Scripture
  • Explain ways in which study of the historical issue of slavery in the USA provides a case study for thinking about hermeneutics
  • List three factors students should take into account to help ensure a correct biblical interpretation
