God can do anything however when he said it he will do it. The prophecy had to be ad he said it would be.

Thy word is that that goes from his lips it will not change.

Like Chris, I do believe God to be a God of His word. If it was prophesied it would happen through a virgin, He’s not one who has to alter his plan to fit any thing or anyone. Yes, He is God, but if there was option to change, the prophecy’s would have said so.

that’s a hard question since it was planned out even before the foundation of the earth and our creation.

    wouldn’t know.

I can’t possibly know the mind of God. He could have accomplished this in ways I can’t imagine. He is God. He chose to reveal Himself this way. He chose it for a reason. Who am I to say how He could have chosen differently?

I’m not God so I can’t in all honesty speak for Him. But, I’m sure God could have come up with many ways.

He chose the the way He thought best.

Christian Learning Center Forums If the virgin birth took place, what would be God’s purpose for Jesus being born in this manner?

I believe that with God it has to be supernatural, because He is supernatural. Not to mention there had to be no question that Jesus was not a normal human being, because for Him to die for the sinner He had to be a perfect man. It’s awesome to think that no other human being has been born without the necessary components that make a birth possible.

So that he could show man that although entered the earth through the flesh as we did, experienced all we will, but to set the example and redeem us back to God after Adams fall, succumbed to the desires of the flesh.

He is both God and man, born of a virgin pregnant by the holy spirit.

God wanted to reach out to sinful man and so, He had to make a way where there is no way and that way was through sinless Christ

He had to be born in this manner, so that his dna was different than man’s sinful dna,

Christian Learning Center Forums Why is the virgin birth such a departure from what we know of human biology?

it’s a departure from what we know of human biology, because it’s impossible to be accomplished. God went against the laws of nature once again to accomplish His divine purpose.

because man was so used to a man and women coming together to conceive a child.

Having been a nurse for many years I can tell you that the virgin birth is impossible except through God

it did not involve Joseph sexually knowing Mary

It did not involve the human process of sexual intercourse to produce athe child Jesus. Joseph never knew Marry sexually before Jesus was born.
