To begin seeing what is important in the patriarchal stories, we’re going to look for the key terms. To start, let’s make a list of all the references using some form of the word “bless.” With the following link you can use a simple search engine. In biblical studies we call the tool for finding words a “concordance.”

(The asterisk will find words like bless, blessed, blessing, etc.) The first results are in Genesis.
