These lessons aren’t meant simply to judge approaches taken by others in the history of the Church. It’s about recognizing our tendencies as humans when we relate to God’s truth. So, what tendency do you have—is it to systematize, or is it to listen for the symphony of various voices over time?

We really want to overcome our natural inclinations and preferences by appreciating both approaches to Scripture. But for our next lesson, we’ll head toward biblical theology, the discipline that focuses more on the symphony.
