Celebrating Women in the Bible

To celebrate Women’s History Month, take some time to reflect on the powerful stories of women in the Bible. Here are some resources from Our Daily Bread Ministries that will shed light on these fascinating female characters and their role in God’s story.

  • Women in the New Testament, Dr. Lynn Cohick. In this course Dr. Cohick explores the true stories of women in the New Testament and the culture in which they lived. Enrich your Bible study by deepening your understanding of the contribution of these women to Jesus’ ministry and spreading the gospel.   
  • A Cloud of Women: The Powerful Connection between Black Women and Women of the Bible, Georgia A. Hill and Diane Proctor Reeder. In this book from Our Daily Bread Publishing, you will learn about the parallels between dozens of biblical women and the lives of contemporary Black women. This unique lens allows you to appreciate the lives of brave women in the Bible and in today’s society.
  • Women in Ministry,” Dr. Tim Laniak. In this lesson from Bible Journey’s course on 1-2 Timothy and Titus, Dr. Laniak provides extensive teaching and background on women in the first century church.  Deepen your understanding of Paul’s teaching in his epistles on the role of women.
  • Roles of Women in the Work of Jesus, Discover the Word podcast. Listen to this fascinating discussion of how Jesus included women in his ministry.
