Celebrating God’s Creation!

The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.
Psalm 19:1-2

April 22 is Earth Day, a day when we appreciate the wonder and beauty of the natural world. Here are some resources from Our Daily Bread Ministries that you can use to reflect on our Creator and His creation.

  • Get Outside: Knowing God through His Creation. Creation draws us to God. In Get Outside, you will see how ordinary outdoor moments can encourage you to connect with the Father on a deeper level. Through four words—delightfearwonder, and care—you’ll learn how the Father calls us to holiness as we find the God of creation in nature.
  • All Creation Sings. During his many years of missionary work in India, Dr. Paul Brand developed a great appreciation for the natural world and its magnificent Creator. In this booklet, he shows how the soil under our feet can teach us many things about the soil of our hearts. Challenging us to see who we are as children of God through the beauty and wonder of His handiwork, Dr. Brand also reminds us of the responsibility God has given us to take proper care of His creation.
  • Celebrating the Wonder of Creation. Rediscover the wonder of God in creation, as educator and naturalist Dean Ohlman takes a look at God and man’s relationship to creation. Gain a better understanding of the importance of faithful stewardship over your body and the world around you and of the promise of future restoration for God’s handiwork.

We hope that these resources enrich your understanding and enjoyment of our beautiful world as a sacred space where you can encounter the Lord of all creation!
