Showing human frailties alongside our strengths is one way that shows God’s Word is true. If it was filled with perfect people, we would not be able to relate! I appreciate how the Bible shows me who I am now and who God sees me to be when I grow in Him. It continues to help me see that God is all-knowing and has a plan for my life even when I fail Him. We need HONESTY and not “fluff.”

It proves God is who He says He is.

Jesus came in order to heal the sick, he didn’t avoid or deny the real problems of people and their lives. Jesus kept company with sinners, and yet he showed them a better way. How can I mirror his lead in getting to the heart of life’s struggles, without getting mixed up in the nastiness of the struggles. How can I love my brother or sister even in the midst of real struggle? I can stand with them and be an exhorted of the goodness of God in order to strengthen them.

Absolutely! The more I dive into the Scriptures I see how much God reveals of our human nature, but still loves us to the point where “what we were” and “what we will be” are two separate creations. I am thankful for that! It gives me hope when I read of others who failed the Lord as I have but yet God never gave up on them and used their failures to draw them closer to the Lord.

As I read the Bible, it pierced my heart of the sins that I have committed. It shows the ugliness of sin in everyone of us.

I can trust the Bible because human nature seen today is the same as what is read in the Bible. It shows we live in a sin-cursed world and that has been the case since Adam and Eve chose to sin. The characters in the Bible were not perfect and neither am I! They are real life in this fallen world with the promise of redemption through Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells the good, the bad, and the ugly as well as the truth. God doesn’t call us to live a fictitious life. He keeps it real! I respect Him for that.
