In every culture throughout history, people have asked questions such as, “Who are we?” and “Why are we here?” The Bible tells us that we are God’s images, created to rule over creation on His behalf and to turn the world into His earthly kingdom. Sin has damaged us and complicated our work, but by God’s grace in Christ, we can be restored and our work can be completed.

  1. Describe humanity’s origin, composition and purpose.
  2. Explore the consequences of humanity’s fall into sin.
  3. Examine humanity’s covenant relationship to God.
  • Dr. Perry's course on anthropology is quite deep, but quite necessary, to understand man from God's perspectives. I learned about the differences among posse non peccare, posse peccare, and non posse peccare; about the differences between prevenient grace and irresistible grace. I learned to think more sharply about these issues. Although the content is developed very systematically and logically (which I appreciate), there are also many points that overlap, and therefore sound like a repetition. I just wonder whether there may be an alternative way to revamp the material into its minimum irreducible elements, such that repetition is avoided?
