It is so easy to want to come to our defense when someone says something against us. As many, I have regretted statements said, and have learned that it is wise to keep quiet. Some practical steps in making such change would include thinking about what I would say before saying it. Taking a moment to ponder whether such words will edify another. If a correction needs to be made I mention it in a kind manner. I thoroughly enjoy what Professor Dallaire said about Proverbs including universal statements that instruct.

I always have an interest in law and it is interesting how the Bible warns of taking such action. The examples of the other proverbs were helpful in putting into perspective how similar the sayings are to the Bible as well. I hope more people can realize the truth that it speaks.

The examples that were provided were very clear and I plan on making such notes in my Bible to help me remember these facts better. It also helps me identify that there are so many ways this one book is written and has inspired me to take more time when reading it.

I hope to share what I’ve learned with others, and it would great to have another study in this book with someone else once I’ve completed this course and compare my knowledge before and after. I also hope to be able to take such wisdom and apply it other books within the Bible.

The “stubborn self” expression on the other hand is quite different. It shows that through humility and the seeking of God-supernatural change can occur as we all realize how we came into this world in sin and need Jesus to help us through our trials.
