  • This has radically impacted my life. Jesus’ claiming to be God truly causes us to rethink and reshape our entire lives to be modeled after the teachings and life of Jesus. If Jesus truly is the Son of God, which we believe, then our lives should be centered around Him, our lives should look like the life of Jesus, and our hearts should pursue all that Jesus was about in Scripture.

  • I would respond with how Jesus shared about Himself in Scripture and the prophecies spoken about Jesus in the Old Testament and we’re clearly fulfilled throughout Jesus’ life shared in the Gospels. I would also shared that when some doubts or questions come into my mind that those are the things that I am reminded of that help assure me of who Jesus is and how His claim of being God is true!

  • I think it’s hard to understand in our heads, but when we see the relationships that God has with God’s self in the Father, Son, and Spirit it’s a beautiful relationship for us to base marriage, community, service, and intimacy off since God’s relationships is beautiful, self-giving, and full of perfect love.

  • Growing up I had different friends leave my school and community during elementary school and I had a hard time processing those friendship loses. I am not sure if I felt abandoned by God in those. I do know that in a few deaths that happened in our community in high school and college for young people I questioned what God was doing amidst that time in our lives and community.

  • The impact of racism in the country of the US really impacts the way I see my belief in God and how I read the Bible greatly! The idea of how God views and cares for the oppressed and marginalized in our communities really was brought to light for me through scripture and then through life experiences as I saw the importance of connecting and getting to know these communities. Growing up in a christian home there was a lot of assumptions I made about following God and reading scripture that through time in the world and understanding the culture where we live really impacted many of those assumptions about God and scripture.
