At the beginning of the lesson, we noted the Old Testament sources for the declaration of Jesus’ superiority in Hebrews 1. In passages like this, we’re reminded that using Old Testament descriptions of YHWH to refer to Jesus is not merely a Pauline habit but a core biblical equation. By making this correlation, the biblical authors are continually reminding us that Jesus is the God of the Old Testament.
