One of the main reasons that I enjoy reading the Old Testament is because it is what Jesus and his disciples refer to throughout the New Testament so in order to fully understand the New Testament you need to understand and also have knowledge of the Old Testament.

The Old Testament is foundational to our faith. The New Testament uses the Old Testament over and over again as its reference. It is more than just a list of laws and people. It is the origin of Christ himself that we will see face to face in the New TEstament.

Jesus often referenced the Old Testament, and many of the prophecies from the Old Testament were fulfilled through Him. Jesus’ presence is also found in the Old Testament. Without the Old Testament, how can we understand the prequel and prologue to the New Testament? The answer is simple.
