The New Testament reveals what the Old Testament concealed. To truly understand the revelations of The New Testament one must have an understanding of the Old to truly see the heart of God and His desires for His people. We can have the great pleasure of knowing God if we are not willing to read His Word. All of it.

The Old Testament gives us factual and personal information about God and Jesus.

The Old Testament provides a background to God. It teaches us why He did the things He did, why we need redemption, why the laws had to be fulfilled, it answers a lot of “why?” questions. It also provides us with a foundation for our faith in Jesus. Without reading stories like Noah’s and Moses’, our faith in God to bring us through tough times is less.

Because the new testament quotes the Old testament and without this understanding God’s story would be incomplete

Because the OT is the foundation of the whole Bible. It establishes the foundation of Truth.
