When People in the Bible went to Jerusalem, it is often recorded as “going up” to Jerusalem. The reality is that Jerusalem is on a hilltop but the idea also seems to imply that a person was “up” to worship God seemly as an elevated spiritual position.

“It is like the dew of Hermon Coming down upon the mountains of Zion; For the Lord commanded the blessing there—life forever.” (Psalms 133:3)
God’s blessing of life (now) and forever (eternal) is likened to the morning dew coming from Mount Herman to the valleys below.

The parable of building on solid or sandy ground.
Noah and the Flood
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden -
Judges 5:4-6 (Part of the song of Deborah)
O Lord, when you went out from Seir,
When you march from the land of Edom,
The earth shook, the heavens poured,
the clouds poured down water.
The mountain quaked before the Lord, the One of Sinai, before the Lord, the God of Israel….If we do not know where the battle environment of Barak and Deborah was facing the chariots of Sisera, it would be hard to understand the story…
Why Seir, land of Edom and the One of Sinai are mentioned here? How do they explain the God of Israel?
