Yes. The Holy Spirit gives you the insight to comprehend. Only those who have accepted Christ as their savior can have the Holy Spirit. Head knowledge v. heart knowledge.
-
- Yes, to fully understand the Word, we must have the leading of the Holy Spirit. Although, there are principles of right living for all, (the Ten Commandments, loving our neighbor as ourselves, etc) that if followed, anyone will benefit from.
-
Absolutely. It is Holy Spirit who gives us the truth of the gospel. Spirit speaks to spirit.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:10
For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:2

Yes, “Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.””
John 3:
“I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?”

Yes, we need the Holy Spirit to help us discern (1 Cor 2:14). Our hearts must be aligned with Christ!

1. Stick with the Autographs and the literal definitions of the words.
2. Pray for wisdom. God promises wisdom to those who ask.
3. If you are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, He will guide you to the truth.
-
We must empty ourselves of our bias’ and our own thoughts(opinions. We must pray and to be open to what the Spirit teaches us. Our minds must be transformed and renewed in Christ (Romans 12:2)
-
I’ve heard it said that God intentionally left one thing out of the Bible, and that one thing is “Your Opinion”.
-
The answer is to have an inductive approach to bible study not deductive.
-
We should have the attitude of Thessalonica where they received the word with great eagerness, examining the scriptures daily to see whether these things were so (Acts 17:11).

If it isn’t directly about salvation, it’s not worth arguing over. (“wood, hay, stubble”) Agree to disagree about the things that aren’t in defiance of Scripture and move on.
-
Chrisitans should relate to each other humbly. The enemy uses pride to bring division among the brethren. Believers should pray with one another and for one another as they seek the truth. God surely is able to speak us if we are humble.
-
Bottom line is that if one person believes Scripture says one thing, and another person says it says something different, it’s clear that one, the other, or neither knows how to read the Bible. That being said, it’s still important to teach truth with kindness.
