We got into a conversation about God and His existence. That led onto the three questions that most everyone ask themselves, Where do we come from?, Why are we here?, and most important Where are we going. We discussed how almost every culture believes in an afterlife. God offers us the most reasonable and gracious solution, By Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. An unspeakable Gift, Himself in the flesh offering us Eternal Life in exchange for His Sacrificial death for us.

I was asked why I believed in Jesus because the person asking had some doubts of His existence. I explained that my belief came about because of my Spiritual relationship with Christ. I also used the Bible to show that by faith we follow Christ noting the things He has done for me, both physically and Spiritually.

I had to defend my faith when talking to a neighbor about Christ. She had many questions about His love, death on the cross, answered prayers, and the like. I was able to talk to her about personal experiences, adding Scripture as I went along. While she did not accept Christ that night, she had a good foundation to think about.

I was on a mission trip to Mongolia and I was teaching English in a university and one of my students asked the question” Why can’t all religions be true?” I considered in my heart this question as I had a crisis of belief. But as I considered this question I realized that their is only one God and Jesus is His Son and there can be no other gods and I explained this to the young man and I have never found out what he decided to believe but I think that someday we will meet again in Heaven.

When I belonged to a cult that didn’t celebrate traditional Christian holidays (e.g., Christmas, Easter, New Year’s Day), co-workers would sometimes ask me why I didn’t. I would explain that these celebrations had pagan origins, and Christians should replace these with the observances outlined in Leviticus 23. After I left the cult, I learned that under the New Covenant, the only sacraments God requires are baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Specials days and observations are now a matter of personal choice (Colossians 2:16-17).
