The real, honest depiction of people in the Bible show the honesty of the Bible. It reveals the need we all have for God.
-
That God has always had a plan for us. Oftentimes, people will state “how do you know God made us?” Well, the Bible discusses how God not only created us, but planned for our existence throughout the Bible.
-
God is kind and honest. He shows exactly how we should live our lives. He made us in his image and we ought to live like him. Even though we go through trials, We know that God is always with us.
-
That God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He never changes. The same way He helped the people in the Bible days, He will do the same for us today.

I’ve honestly never thought about this before. To me, the Bible has the power to transform humans, but human nature has a propensity towards sin because we live in a fallen world. The Bible cannot change our human nature, but it can change our hearts.

I am not sure exactly what Dr Hahn meant, however I do know that the Bible doesn’t try to change anything in its context, but it changes the person who is reading it.
-
I definitely feel the same way, the Bible does tell the dark part of a story that not may be appealing to the reader, however, it is a story of redemption over and over again and in the hope of redemption through Jesus.
-
The Bible is explicit, and gives the not so pleasant details. It most certainly isn’t giving us the sugar-coated stuff.
-
It is interesting that the term ‘human nature’ is often used synonymously with negative connotations and characteristics and yet when God first created Adam & Eve, their human nature was good. From the point disobedience and sin, we find that humans fail miserably and can often act in selfish and self indulgent ways. The Bible depicts humanity as it is and gives an honest account of the people that God uses and their pitfalls.

The Bible doesn’t portray a picture that most humans want to read every day. It shows the true nature of our hearts and our desires.
-
The Bible is our guide to live a holy life for God. It shows people with strengths and weakness and that nobody in the Bible is perfect.
-
We cannot rely on ourselves, but we can rely on God’s Word. As humans, we are “tossed like waves” as the book of James says, because we are emotional and weak sometimes, but God is not weak, nor is His word weak, or changing. No matter what I think or do, His Word remains and is everlasting. The Bible shows us our weakness as humans, but it doesn’t show it without hope, or correction. It doesn’t promise fame and fortune, but it promises Salvation and blessing to those who hear, believe, obey, and bear fruit.
-
you can count on the truths of the Bible, in all circumstances and in all situations. God’s word is true.

The Bible shows us right from the beginning that we fall prey to sin. But the Bible also shows us that there will be and has been a Savior. Throughout the Bible we see time and time again, Abraham, Moses, David and continuing on where people fail, we sin, we fall short, BUT, God’s grace and mercy can have us still do great things. Because of this repetition over and over again, we are given hope and we can believe in it’s credibility and trust the Bible that God does indeed have a plan for each and every one of us.
