Because I had started this course several years ago and have now returned to restart and complete it, I have begun to see how very important each of these areas of Soul Care are. God is opening me up more and more to His leading as I have “unlearned” some very secular ways of “quick fix therapy” that I have seen to be fruitless, and has given me a vision beyond my own physical seeing, that “hears” better, that “sees” better, that is open to the Spirit giving me open ended questions of curiosity that then can enter in, with another to show them how their relationship with God can free them if he is truly their ruling passion. It is so exciting to “see” with what I have coined “Jesus vision,” the possibility for another’s life and I am so thankful that God uses broken vessels like me to come along side to stand with, and sometime hold up, a sister who has felt so alone for so long. This kind of care that Dr. Crabb has brought into my world, has changed me forever, and I am so thankful for his committment to God’s way and no other.

I have thought about these key concepts a lot since beginning this study. It truly does help me feel less like I have to “know it all” when trying to help people. It is the Spirit’s job to change people – not mine. I can only change myself! This course has also caused me to reflect on why I do or say what I do. I appreciate the work the Lord is doing inside of ME as I learn to be an instrument for Him. I am seeing more of my ruling passions and brokenness.

I’m feeling excitement and anticipation of what God is going to do in my own life & the lives of others as He uses me to bless others in meaningful conversations. I’m still feeling confused about the Reframing Concept and so I hope things become clearer in this 2nd course.

Talking to people with these concepts in mind has me thinking about how I will remove myself from ‘fixing’ the person and the problem with inadequate solutions to allowing the teachings of Soul Care to to be the priority in my focus of each interaction and discussion with care receivers, friends and or family.

This is a wonderful reminder for me to get back to the heart of God, to check my own motives – ruling passions, and to remember that God wants us to be agents of healing in the earth.
