Christian Learning Center Forums The lecturer states she “would contend that only a believer is able to truly love wisdom as God created us to love.” Do you agree or disagree? Explain.

I agree with this. As scripture states true wisdom comes from the Lord. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and all who fear and receive Him as Lord and savior understand the foundation of true wisdom.

I agree because true wisdom comes from The Word of God and it is our job as Christian Educators to provide Biblical knowledge and wisdom for our students so they can teach the next generation and the ones that follow.

I agree, since wisdom comes from the Lord.

After hearing the lecturer explain philosophy as the love of wisdom and apply Psalm 111:10 to the context of that definition, I agree that only believers can truly and authentically love wisdom. Wisdom begins by fearing the Lord, which requires submission to Him in a relationship with Him. Without this relational submission and fear, wisdom cannot truly begin. Wisdom cannot exist without an acceptance of reality, and as God is the author of all, we must know Him to truly understand and accept all that is around us.

Since the very beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, yes, only true believers can truly love wisdom. I agree with this statment.

I hope to gain more knowledge and guidance of how I can formulate a a yearly theme that incorporates the values and ethics of living each day can be a building block for God’s kingdom on earth. As a Christian educator I want to be able to grow in learning how to effectively incorporate implementing God’s living words of life to influence the thoughts of students to support building Heavenly Kingdom on earth.

Aside from gaining my ACSI credential, I would like to discover new ways to weave biblical integration throughout my classes daily.

I’d like to know how to balance between a couple of opposing inclinations that I have in teaching. One tendency is compassion or patience for ones who struggle with coursework, and my realization that hard work is necessary….hard work is hard. Be compassionate, or push on?

I delight in philosophy and it’s been a long minute since I’ve been forced to write out any of my own foundational beliefs. I hope to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and confidence. The best part of teaching is the doing. I look forward to acquiring skills I can pass on.

I hope my love for Christian education will grow to new heights and that I will be encouraged to press on. I want to be challenged in my thinking, my planning and in my relationships with my students and their families.

If you’re going to identify as a Christian or choose to work at a place that identifies as such, it is imperative to present a unified staff to students and parents. Denominations aside, the mutual goal of honoring Christ in our daily walk should be integral to a school community. This is a way to combine our subject book learning with faith-based practices that benefit our school’s cohesion to promote positive and encouraging education.

If our worldview is not based on the bedrock of truth (the Word), we are teaching our students from a place of what culture in dictating. As we know, culture’s worldview changes with the wind. We would be setting them up for failure and confusion in the long run. As Christian educators, we must interweave God’s truths into every lesson in academics and social/emotional situations. Laying a solid, unchanging, true foundation for them to understand the world and grow academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

They go hand in hand. If you are a Christian, then your Christian philosophy sets your way of life and the standards that you live by,

This is the foundation upon which we teach. Everyone will sift through this lens, so it is vitally important it is a from a Biblical worldview.

I think it is important to have a Christian philosophy of education because we have the ability to teach the Bible in all aspects of our school day. No matter what subject area we are teaching or focusing on there is a way to incorporate the Bible into every lesson that we are teaching. I think also with our students sometimes life happens and we need to be able to stop teaching in that moment and meet them on a spiritual level to help navigate some of the situdations that life throws in their direction.
