I would agree. True wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord and is a gift to God’s children found in His revealed Word, the inspired and inerrant Bible. By His Holy Spirit we, as believers, are able to apply His Word to all areas of life in this broken world. Someone who rejects Christ is rejecting the very Wisdom of God.
-
I would agree. God is the source of wisdom. All wisdom begins with God and is built up God.
-
Yes, I agree. The Bible says, “The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.” Believers seek wisdom from God and He is the Author of life and wisdom. The world has a different view of life and our purpose here. I would to trust in God’s knowledge rather than my own. James 1 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God who gives to all men generously and without reproach and it will be given to him.”

I would 100% agree with her statement about only a believer truly being able to love wisdom as God created it because true godly wisdom is not the same as what the world defines wisdom as. Godly wisdom is a denial of self, an admiration of God and his statutes, and hearing what is true in the Lord’s eyes- even if it is not what we want to hear or what tickles our ears. We grow as believers to love wisdom because this very wisdom in which God gives us is what He knows will strengthen our souls and draw our hearts more near to Him, our Creator. The world views wisdom as head knowledge of all the worldly mysteries, books, etc. Wisdom of the world also tends to come back to one’s self as the source. So I agree that someone is unable to love something truly if their definition of wisdom is not correct.
-
I agree because Proverbs 4:5-9 states that if you love wisdom, she will take care of you, honor you, and exalt you.
5 Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will keep you;
love her, and she will guard you.
7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever you get, get insight.
8 Prize her highly, and she will exalt you;
she will honor you if you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head a graceful garland;
she will bestow on you a beautiful crown.”

I would like to gain a clearer understanding of how Christian education works. How can we be confident that we are teaching well? How do we know that this is the best way to train students and disciples? I would like to renew my ACSI certification and grow in my competency as a teacher.
I hope to grow in my grasp of content (as a Bible teacher) and also my teaching practices.
-
I hope to gain knowledge I can that can be used in a practical manner in the classroom. I hope to grow in my ability to integrate Biblical principals into other subject areas.
-
I want to learn more about the philosophy of Christian education and grow more in my Christian faith. Moreover, I want to be able incorporate a variety of biblical scriptures within my lesson plans.
-
My goal is to earn my certificate, but I’d also like to explore differences between philosophies in Christian education vs. secular education. My personal approach is to be a Christian first, and then respond to questions/issues/concerns that students might face. I want to be a sounding board for students to navigate their faith.
-
I hope to gain a renewed perspective on the importance of Christian education. I want to grow in my mindset in how I can contribute to raising up the next generation to follow after God.

Why is it imperative that Christian educators have a Christian philosophy of education?

It is imperative for Christian educators to have a Christian philosophy of education so that they hold a solid understanding and have a firm foundation in Christ. Training children up with scripture and biblical views will aid in their future commitments to Christ and his teachings. Children learn through their daily contacts, meaning educators and school administration, as well as their homes. Being able to incorporate scripture in everyday interactions and teachings is vital.

Because knowledge is just information, but we are talking about education here. Education goes beyond the information and deals with the matters of the heart and mind of the individuals. It is about giving truth and teaching truth, so everything we do must “showcase” Christ.
We have this hope that seeds will be planted and God will do the rest.
But it is important that students see we value truth and our standards are above the standards the society sets, as they are not in accord to the vision of God and how the church should live. -
Christian educators must have a Christian philosophy of education, because it will affect not just what they believe about their role, but also how they go about educating the students. If there is not a correct philosophy of education, an educator could be tempted to measure success by the wrong standard/metric.
-
Is is imperative that Christian educators have a Christian philosophy of education to stand firm on out beliefs that God created on his image and to pass the love of wisdom to our students and the worldwide. Furthermore, to educate our pass the knowledge, values and truth of the biblical scriptures and God.

A Christian philosophy of education is like a lighthouse in a foggy cove. The world can offer various alluring things, without knowing Jesus and God’s truths, one can quickly and easily blow in the wind, ending up in the wrong spot. As we are asked to bring children up in the way they should go, we want to follow biblical truths to guide our students.
