It was a visual representation of how we need to diligent in making sure that the Bible is not only the foundation of all that we do, but it surrounds and permeates every part of our curriculum standards, materials, goals, and assessments. It is the lens in which we view and teach about our world.

She is illustrating that Scripture should surround, and I would also say flow through, everything we teach and the instructional resources we use. We should use it as a starting point, to Biblically support lessons and resources, and to conclude lessons.

There are lots of things that we are required to teach and that need to be included in each course. It is important to remember that on all sides, these should be surrounded by the truth from God’s word.

In order to encourage a growth mindset within myself, I read, chat, and listen. I enjoy reading various genres of books. Many encourage me to keep learning new things. In addition to many fun novels, I read Scripture, various devotions, and books by Christian authors. I talk with fellow believers who encourage me to keep learning. My group at church pushes me to dive deeper into Scripture to answer big questions. I also talk with my students who ask great questions during course time which often push me to dive deeper into a certain subject area. I listen to my friends who share what they are currently learning in the Scriptures, at church, and through podcasts.

A technique I’ve used to encourage a growth mindset in myself is to push through when something seems impossible to accomplish. Usually after that initial hurdle, I can see things clearer, and they now seem possible. Another technique, I’ve used is to analyze past situations where I could improve my attitude or actions which helps me to be open to continue learning.

Some techniques I have used to encourage growth mindset are to create a safe environment for my students. I also ask a lot of open ended and scenario questions during whole group learning.

I challenge my own children to try new things and be their best for God. As a result it has pushed me to do the same. I ask for help, seek information online, and am willing to consider new ideas or strategies.

As an Art Teacher, I love what I do and love coming up with new projects for the students. I have many avenues that I daily use to look for inspiration. I then research how to do the inspirational projects and keep then in digital files. Though I follow a basic outline of objects for each year, within those objectives their are endless ways to teach them. Each year I evaluate what I did before and either embrace the good or change it up.

I hope to gain skills and techniques that will help me in biblically integrate my course (math) as well as learn how these skills can be applied outside the classroom.
-
I hope to gain ways to integrate bible in my subjects and also learn from other Christian educators too.
-
I am hoping to learn ways to integrate more Biblical themes into my lessons.
-
I teach Bible courses so biblical integrations is second nature since my courses are teaching the Bible. However, I would like to learn strategies for incorporating biblical integration into all subjects as teachers often come to me asking for ideas and I would like to be able to provide better assistance to them.
-
I know that Biblical integration must spring from mindset and a way of life. It also has to be modeled continuously for students. I am looking forward to learning practical applications for Biblical integration in my classroom.
