We must begin with God’s word and end with God’s word. In the middle are the goals and objectives, the outcomes, the scope and sequence (basically the material we as educators need to use to teach). All of the material needs to be surrounded by God’s word.
-
The aim of the illustration is to remind us that our teaching curriculum must be rooted and surrounded by God’s word. Basically, every learning activity must have a Biblical integration in it.
-
In my opinion, the word of God should be at the beginning and at the end of our teaching/learning at all times.
-
It is an object lesson, a visual of how the Bible must inform and influence everything we do. The setting is in education, but we know we could put any objects between the Bibles to symbolize that everything we do in life must be formed by Scripture in order to be biblical. Even in teaching subjects like math we must have a Christian worldview to see God originated order and numbers for us to discover the world around us.

In my opinion, she was showing that the Bible envelopes the worldly things that we are teaching and learning. Everything starts with the Bible and the text is just in the midddle.

I try to take new learning opportunities for myself whenever I can. I was able to attend an ACSI Fine Arts Roundtable and the information I received from peers who have been doing this much longer than I have was invaluable. There is something to be said for a growth mindset for yourself that will translate on down to your students.

A growing mind equals a growing person. By applying techniques that grow my mindset in a Biblically integrated way it helps grow my whole person: character, morals, and how I express those to others. The Bible is foundational to growing in the way the Lord has commissioned us to be.
-
One effective technique for developing a growth mindset is to embrace challenges. Rather than shying away from complex tasks, my growth mindset allows me to approach challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. I also view failure as a part of learning and setbacks as invaluable learning experiences. Cultivating a sense of curiosity and a love of learning come naturally to me, but finding time to keep learning can be difficult with a busy schedule. However, given this, I need to be persistent and resilient because to succeed at life-long learning requires perseverance and effort to achieve my goals. Adopting these growth mindset techniques allows me to develop what it takes to fulfill my potential.

I have always loved learning, I am constantly researching and reading books about various topics that interest me. I also teach new courses which forces me to dive deeper into the subjects in order to teach them. But this lesson challenged me to continue to grow in my knowledge of the Lord, because I do feel like sometimes I am drawing from past knowledge and it is not coming from a fresh revelation or exposure to the Scriptures. I need to do this on a daily basis.
-
A technique that I naturally use is to ask the wisdom and advice of veteran teachers or godly teachers who I admire. Hearing the advice and wisdom from others of what they do in their own classrooms or situations they have had with students or what things have worked for them in the past encourages me to grow and continue bettering my methods in the classroom and approach to nurturing and guiding students.

I want to truly develop a growth mindset and integrate a Christian philosophy of education into my teaching and all of my life.
-
I would like to learn more about Bible integration in some of my courses that are more difficult to accomplish this task in.
-
What I would like to gain from this course is knowing the best practices in how to integrate God’s word throughout each subject taught.
