All of life should be filter through a Christian worldview and the lens of Scripture. Dr. Black’s visual applies this truth specifically to the realm of education, indicating that educators have the responsibility to filter their curriculum choices through the lens of Scripture. This is vital in integrating education with Christian philosophy.

Your worldview is determined by your personal beliefs. Everything should be view from a Biblical perspective.

I appreciated the visual representation of God’s word on the bottom and the top as a way to bookend whatever it is that we are teaching. The middle part is all about our textbooks, curriculum, teaching resources, and scope and sequence, but it doesn’t have value if it doesn’t start with God’s word and end with God’s word.
-
This visual was an impactful way to show that the Bible should be the center of our work as an educator and it can and should be woven into all areas of curriculum as much as possible from science to phonics.
-
I believe that the visual is reminding teachers to start and end with the word of God when creating lessons for your classes. No matter what you teach or educational goals that you have the word of God surrounds that information and gives it a framework. Basically our lessons in school should be focused on having the scriptures surround our information.

I love change. I love fast-paced environments. I naturally become very frustrated at any repetitious work. Just my nature. The only time I need to remind myself of growth is when I take in constructive criticism. There is always a place I can grow, and as a woman if I don’t tell myself that first, I allow emotions to factor in and that will interfere with me growing. I noticed this about 10 years ago and changing my mindset had greatly helped.

Prayer and being assured by the Scriptures has helped me build a growth mindset. I’m a slow learner so whatever task I am going to do, I’m aware that it will take a decent amount of time for me to learn. Knowing that this is part of me and uniqueness gifted from God has allowed me to accept personal challenges and appreciate opportunities to grow.

I am being gentle with myself when I find myself struggling spiritually or making mistakes when learning something new, or having an awkward social interaction. I am learning and developing and I can grow to be the person I want to be.
-
I always make sure that I am self-reflecting and continuing to learn. I want to reflect each day to see what I can do better or change to reach the students better. Sometimes I even have the students fill out a survey with things they think we should do differently etc. I also always make sure that I am continuing to learn. If there is something I am unsure about I make sure to research it so next time I am better equipped to answer the question or address the situation.
-
Some techniques I am currently using are reading more books and blogs, listening to podcasts on my way to work, and having a closer relationship with the Lord in order to grown in every aspect.

Through this course, I hope to have a better practice of integrating a biblical worldview into my daily lessons. I had some practice with this last year, but I desire to make improvements for the coming school year.
-
I hope to gain new methods of how to incorporate the Bible into my lessons DAILY.
-
I look forward to find new ways to naturally incorporate biblical truths into my lessons.
-
I hope to gain a better understanding of Biblical Integration and learn ways to more actively integrate the Bible in my lessons.
-
I hope to better understand the way that this course presents and instructs biblical integration for its participants. I’m interested in seeing how it compares to David Smith’s work or Roger Erdvig’s work on the parallel, if not similar, topic.
