Since we live in a multi-cultural society that is very diverse, it would behoove us to become knowledgeable about other religious faiths. It is also important to have a firm understanding of our own chosen religious belief system. This will help us to better relate to one another as well as have a healthy appreciation of our similarities and differences. It will enable us to learn how to share our own faith while respecting and the other person’s perspective and views. Essentially it helps to make us a better witness.

In my workplace, there is Christian’s, Muslims, and Buddhists. Being able to better understand the basic differences in each faith set will help me relate when the issue of faith comes up. If I better understand their faith, I hope to be able to relate what my Christian faith would look like to their lives.

I believe it is important to understand other religious belief systems, because it can give insight into understanding the behaviors of other cultures. Our belief systems shape the way we interact with others and how we view what is right and what is wrong in our behavior.

Since religion, is about personal convictions of morality and the creation, understanding another religion other than one’s own would help to deal respectfully with the mentality of a people we meet, example coworkers or neighbours. It also helps us to compare religion.

Religious faith is a belief in something bigger than ones self. I think of religion as a set of rules or structures around a person. In the case of Islam that person is Allah in Buddhism it is Buddha and Christianity-Christ. The faith part is faith in the person using the structure as a way to follow one’s faith or faith leader.

Religion is a confidence that One greater than yourself exists the personal practices that lead to communication with Him.

The study of a person’s spiritual beliefs about God and how it relates to the world around them.
