Before this lesson I would say a good leader is someone who gets the group to achieve the goal successfully. Now I feel a good a leader is someone who can get the team to buy into the vision!

I would have described leadership as influence. I think the distinction that is made about leadership being a verb is a good one. Its not management. We actually take people somewhere.

I would have described a good leader as someone who takes people toward a goal, while working along side them. Now I would say the same, but add that once the goal is reached that those that were being led desire to be under the same leadership again

Leadership brings us to new places and guides us to somewhere we want to be. It is more innovative and growing. Management is watching over the tasks that we need to do right where we are.
-
Management controls, puts rules in place and makes sure they are followed. A leader empowers and inspires his/her followers and listens to them. A leader gathers information from the team. A manager controls the team.
-
Leadership takes us someplace while management helps us do what we are supposed to be doing while we are in that place.
-
Leadership guide others to do the right thing and to the right place. Management is dealing with or controlling things or people.
-
I think… leadership is taking people where they were not previously and management is overseeing tasks
