The organizational structure pointed out by Dr. Bloomberg was all new to me. I had read these passages many times without noticing the structure. I also hadn’t observed that Jesus’ ministry milestones of preaching in the synagogue, proclaiming the good news, and healing the sick were repeated to form an inclusio. I will read the Sermon on the Mount much differently now.

I really never saw the gospel in such an organized way. The outline will help me understand how the events of the chapter are connected to each other.

I had never noticed the inclusio from the end of Chapter 4 to the end of Chapter 9, They begin and end with the almost the same phrasing.

There is far more to the Beatitudes than I realized – looking forward to the rest of this journey.
