When I see that these are future tense and yet seem to imply the now, I can be assured that God’s promises are true because Jesus told us.

The first part of the verses are sad, cowardly (meek), lowly but the second part shows great strength, that there are blessing now for the sad parts as well as for the Kingdom to come when Jesus reigns with God, partial blessings now, with great blessings later. This is the first time I have seen the Beatitudes in this light. Beware to the power brokers of the world, the day of reckoning will come.

We are serving His kingdom for another purpose besides the one on Earth.

We receive blessings today, but our blessings will be totally fulfilled when we get to Heaven.
