Paul said that he wanted to “all things to all people in order to save some.” I embrace that and I try to practice it. He also said that “to be absent from the world would be present with Jesus” and I embrace that too, sometimes more than my friends appreciate, however, at 75 I’m so ready. I have studied Paul and his writings my entire life and I can never get enough. He was so me in so many ways and, not only is he my model, but he also lets me know that he’s didn’t consider himself “all that”, at least most of the time. My problem exactly.

Paul was such a prominent figure in the early church and his life and his trails can be so useful to build my faith as well as gain a greater understanding of the man.

Paul lived in a time and culture far different than my American experience. Some of his ways and teaching are foreign and confusing to me. I want to learn more about where he was coming from in some of the statements and instructions he gave in the epistles.
