It is the freedom from the bondage of sin. It is no longer living under a condemnation that we are not good enough, hopeless or worthless. We already know that but in Jesus Christ, his forgiveness of sins that was extended to us, makes us whole in him. It is not about ourselves and trying to be good enough or holy enough because we simply can’t. It is living in obedience to his Word, allow the Holy Spirit to work inside us, and walking with Jesus as part and parcel of the journey of life.

Due to Christ’s work on the cross, we have freedom to serve and follow God’s commands. We have freedom, not give in to temptation, and we have freedom to go to God on our own without having a priest to do it for us. Jesus being crucified gave us that privilege. Jesus willingly became the sacrificial lamb of God, so that we could be freed from the law, experience the grace, mercy and peace of God, and accept the free gift of salvation so that we can let the Holy Spirit rest, rule and abide in us.

We experience freedom from many false beliefs and mindsets, that have inhibited our ability to actually walk the talk beyond religious rituals. I’ve finally begun to see the reality of Christ’s work in my heart and mind.

The freedom in the spirit transforms life, helping me to make better choices, and find greater purpose, and live in confidence in my walk with Jesus ultimately help me grow closer to Christ and becoming more like Him.

The freedom I have because of Christs work on the cross is the freedom from being a slave to sin. While sin may affect my life from time to time, it does not control it. It is no longer the main focus. Instead it gives me the the freedom to have a relationship with God and allows me to love God and love others.

I have studied the fruit of the Spirit over and over again. It is a big part of my dying to self. I often use it as a measuring stick just to see how I’m doing in that regard. I don’t suppose I’ve ever had a day that I’ve allowed the fruit of the Spirit to work totally in my life but I’ll never cease to strive for the goal. Only the Holy Spirit can fill me enough to live out the fruit. Please God.

I have not studied the fruit of the spirit. I took this course because it was a continuation of my our daily bread devotional reading.

I did not study deeply. I just read the passage and knew about the fruits of the spirit. I just want to go more deeply.

I actually have Galatians 3 highlighted in my Bible and refer to it fairly often especially when I need a reminder or when I’m struggling.
