The New Testament came to be because there were many eye witnesses of Jesus, His teachings, and His death. These eyewitnesses then cooroborated the stories that were written by God’s people.

It came through a variety of sources. It is God breathed through authors who witnessed Jesus here on earth, and by others who were taught by these eyewitnesses.

The new testament came to be through a variety of sources. First, from God via divine knowledge passed to the disciples. Second, all writings found from history were analyzed to ensure that they fit the broader theme of the old testament. Third, documents for the new testament were tested to see if they fit the character of Christ.

The New Testament was a revelation/ breathed from God the Father as revealed by the Holy Spirit. All of the 27 books of the New Testament was carefully considered of its validity and authenticity. ALL of the writers of the New Testament was also inspired by the Holy Spirit and spent 4 years with Jesus Christ and truly His heart and life was infuse in His disciples and they took the Gospel to the utter most parts of the world, just as Jesus taught them to do.

The three major criteria were Consistency; that the writings were consistent with what was written in the Old Testament writings. Catholicity; in that they would be universally accepted. The word Catholic means universal. Apostolic Authority; was the writing associated in some way with an Apostle of Jesus, so that there would be validity connected to the writings.

The books of the New Testament are consistent with the books of the Old Testament. The book of the New Testament were circulated widely throughout the early Roman Empire and found to be accurate, helpful, and useful to the first Christians. They were all written by an apostle or by one who was a close associate of an apostle.

The three major criteria was consistency which refers to sound documents that cohered with previous Scripture, the second is Catholicity, which would be the widespread acceptance of the documents and the third is Apostolic Authority, a plausible claim that the document was written by an apostle or one closely associated with an apostle.

The three major criteria to be met are: Consistency, Catholicity and Apostolic Authority. Consistency is measured by how true the books are to the story of Jesus. Catholicity is measured by the acceptance of the book by diverse groups. Apostolic Authority is measured by the author being an apostle of Jesus.

In order for the twenty-seven books to be considered part of the Canon, they had to go through the criteria of: Consistency, Catholocity, Apostolic Authority. The writings had to be reviewed and compared to previous scripture, it also needed to be accepted in a widespread area and it needed to be pinned by an apostle or someone close to an apostle.
