You might have heard the expression, “There’s nothing as practical as a good theory.” This is obviously not what you’ll hear from those who criticize useless theory in favor of nuts and bolts common sense and practical wisdom. 

But Paul has proven time and again that he won’t tell you what to do until he tells you why. He’s always got a theological reason for a behavioral prescription.
