You might have heard the expression, “There’s nothing as practical as a good theory.” This is obviously not what you’ll hear from those who criticize useless theory in favor of nuts and bolts common sense and practical wisdom. 

But Paul has proven time and again that he won’t tell you what to do until he tells you why. He’s always got a theological reason for a behavioral prescription. Before you leave this lesson make sure to keep this connection in your pack. When you start thinking you—or someone else—needs to be told what to do, maybe it will remind you to start with being told what is true.
