So, what did you take away from this lesson? A new insight into the significance of a particular Christian behavior? Maybe the way suffering could be turned from a source of shame to a badge of honor? And that goes to the core of the gospel message—that a Messiah who suffered the shame of the cross was exalted to the place of highest honor.
We can’t let these topics be reduced simply to “interesting background.” This is theology with far-reaching implications.
Let’s turn our attention to another topic that is clearly central to so much of what the Bible teaches about God.
