To love other people at all times, even when they do us harm. To always put God first in our lives even when our lives are a mess physically or financially. It is a broken world and as Christians we are called to obey with our loyalty to God and to demonstrate his love through our love for others.

Some of the ways we can respond as Christians is to encourage one another by building a relationship with Jesus. We also need to understand that all things are in God’s hands no matter what the situation is.

The Bible was given to us as God’s instructions and love for us. Knowing the Bible and believing the Bible are different things; believing the Bible takes a leap of faith that Jesus has called us to. He tells us He will come again and we have to have faith that the Bible (and Jesus’ promises) are truthful. God is a God that keeps his promises.

As Christians, we are not perfect and we go through trials and tribulations. We often think that Jesus will work something out immediately, but that isn’t the case always. Sometimes it takes time to realize Jesus is helping us, but he will never leave us with anything we cannot handle.

Jesus has called us all to live as he did; a servant to others, putting them above your own needs and wishes.

Jesus calls Christian leaders to be servants of their people because he came to serve. Servant leaders use their God given skills and authority to glorify God and one of the best ways to do that is to serve others.

Jesus was very clear in how His purpose in coming was to be seen. Jesus said that He came not to be served, but to serve. When someone goes out to “spread the gospel”, the way of the master is simple. Through servant humility, the message of the Holy Spirit is received by the pre-Christian. When we set ourselves up as an authority, we push people away from the savior. People are simple, we each want to be the master of our own lives. Yet Jesus says that we must take up our cross, denying self, in order to do His work.

The greatest leader leads by example, so their followers will not develop a “do as I say, not as I do” mentality. The bible says to “mark the perfect man” the perfect man has the qualities, character, and attributes both – do as I say, as well as I do. Jesus demonstrated this throughout His entire life because He stated he came do the will of His Father, and everything he was teaching the twelve or the masses, came from His Father who taught Him.
