That was quite a start, wasn’t it? We reviewed the creation of everything, and an introduction to interpreting the Bible in light of ancient Near Eastern myths and modern scientific debates! Every lesson won’t have this much variety to it, but we wanted to make sure you had all the bases covered with a chapter that is so critical for the rest of the Bible.
If we don’t fully grasp the implications of creation and God the only Creator here, we’ll misunderstand the many temptations that lie ahead and the importance of new creations in the rest of Scripture. That’s why the next lesson is going to round out our understanding of what happened “in the beginning.”
