[Record your answers in the workbook provided at the beginning of this course.]

God made clear His plans to pour out blessings through Abraham to the whole world. He repeatedly made promises to Abraham as well as Isaac and Jacob about His plans to bless. In the previous exercise, you identified some basic elements of the promises God made to these patriarchs during the course of the Genesis account.

  1. Record observations about these promises in your workbook. Consider the context in which God gives them or reminds the patriarch of previously given promise(s). Do the promises change? How are the promises reinforced during the narrative?

The passages are listed here again for your reference: Gen 12:1-3; Gen 17:3-8; Gen 22:15-18; Gen 26:2-5; Gen 35:10-12; Gen 46:2-4.
