Have you ever been in charge of protecting a group of people? As a soldier at war? As a security guard? Maybe it’s been part of your role as a teacher with a course or as a parent with your children. Well, we’re about to meet a prophet who was called to protect God’s people by being their “watchman.” This will turn out to be a very serious assignment. If Ezekiel fails to warn his generation, he will personally be guilty and suffer the judgment for their sins.

Let’s get acquainted with Ezekiel, one of Jeremiah’s contemporaries. Both endured abuse for God’s Word which they felt compelled to speak. And in some surprising ways they both had to act it out. Neither prophet became popular preaching God’s Word.

Before this lesson is over you’ll have a chance to see how some of God’s children respond when His Word first arrives.
